Collections

The Heritage Museum's collections include a wide variety of artifacts left behind by native peoples, and items donated by community members with a rich history in Howard County.  All of these collections are carefully catalogued and stored with the proper conservation supplies in the museum's collection's storage areas.  Click below to see some of the important pieces of Howard County's history!

 

Research / Archival Collections

These two-dimensional items make up a large part of the museum's collections.  With over 7,000 photographs, the Heritage Museum has extensive visual documentation of historic Big Spring and Howard County.  Documents and records are also an important part of this department.  These types of collections are mostly used for academic purposes, such as papers, books, and research.  Below are some examples of the images housed inside the museum.
